The album features suggestive conscious lyrics and sometimes provocative with an overall sound that rocks the roots strong hypnotic grooves of reggae and rock that include elements of dub true to this genre of music. The tactics of improvised guitar on the track title''Changing People''works well with the wah-wah pedal''''''Earl Chinna Smith'', used as a device to emphasize certain parts of the poems líricos.O uncle Errol, Familyman delivers his authentic touch in''Babylon Is Burning''and Akila himself expands his creative gift playing rhythm guitar and drum Kette in''Mother of the Nation'' that shows his talent and showing awareness of Rastafari this new musical artist.

It is limited simply to generate success on several levels because it has a keen sense of understanding of motivation, creativity and business, making him the ideal artist to become a contributor today significant in the music scene. Extracting the Rastafarian faith at the forefront of his vision for mythical themes that create the likeness of interpretations of reality that witness, he takes us on a whole circuit of his personal being, the songs sound the composition not only unique, but militants . In his first self-produced album 'Changing People' Akila Barrett emerges to indicate a talent that continues the tradition set by his distinguished family, and the world famous musicians who played with reggae legends like Bob Marley and Augustus Pablo ..
The instruments are all real, though a bit programmed, the riddims are continuous (particularly evident in the dubs) and Barrett has a voice command and convincingly. Plus, the feel funky on "In Control," with his guitar á la Santana, is a brave departure from the reggae beat that keeps the pace as much as conscience. This is a strong first album from an artist with plenty to offer and a true reggae spirit coursing through his veins. Akila
