Physics Of Continuous Matter, B. Lautrup

Vernon & Jewell Glasford Manning

Many Jamaican never have their stories told, but could go back at least some bands whose cult has grown steadily over the past twenty years, even more than enough dark, like The Jewells, a group that was led by vocalist connection Glasford Manning, also known as 'Porti,' or 'Porti Jewel'. He is a cousin of the brothers Donald and Lynford Manning, the Abyssinians and Carlton Manning, leader of the Carlton and the original had Shoes.Os The Jewells Benjamin Daley, Lynford Newland and along with The Happy Stephenson Jewells. But Newland Lynford is not with the group now, he is in a foreign country, there in America. So it is three of them working in the studio now. The Jewells The group is so progressive, advanced and knowledgeable, but never received a deserved payback. This harmony trio made its name in the seventies by standout tracks like "Jah I I ',' Slave Trade ', and militant songs Provocative as' Black Is the Highest Culture ', or for mature lovers in a sweet' lovers' rock like Dream Lover Babe '. They worked mainly from producers Niney The Observer and Leggo Beast, the latter said to sit on at least a value of two albums of songs on this neglected group. Porti also recorded several solo records like 'Profecy Call', a favorite particular systems of sound between the British crowd, has a lot of something like an underground classic, and was reissued in a single 10 "by Niney recently.
After a handful of releases more or less extraordinary, and his fellow Porti The Jewells have disappeared from the music scene in 1986 after 'Inside Up Upside Down', a 12 "Leggo Sounds, and since then do not make any impact. Glasford Manning did with The Jewels perhaps the finest recording to "Jah I". Released by Niney The Observer in 1977, this has hit the fierce drumming and syncopated double-time''''master drummer Sly Dunbar.Mas the history of Jamaican music in Porty nãocomeça or ends with The Jewells, he was also a founding member of Time Unlimited time, a quartet that characterized among them a young Junior Delgado, as well as Hugo Blackwood, and began to write another legend, Sir Coxsone Dodd's Studio One in the late sixties. Not much information available in this great, overlooked, obscure, but highly talented singer Porty is one of the best vocal harmony groups of reggae, The Jewells ..
